Lone Star Cup

The Match Play Tryouts for the Houston LSC team are on the final matches. We'll have the team named the first week of August. But, you don't need to be on the team to enjoy Horseshoe Bay Resort and this out of town EWGA event. There is fun play golf at the same time; a perfect opportunity to come along and see what the Lone Star Cup is all about, socialize with your EWGA friends, and cheer on your Houston LSC Team or, just get out of town and enjoy golf at a beautiful golf resort (I believe negotiations are also underway for spa treatments)!

As you'll see on all of the forms, the deadline for registration is August 17th. If you are registering, we request that you stay at the resort, as EWGA has a committment for a minimum number of rooms.

Event Details

The 2009 Lone Star Cup will be held at Horseshoe Bay , Texas , (www.hsbresort.com). The event includes a slightly different schedule, playing the tournament on Friday and Saturday to allow for the awards banquet after the event; opening up a casual play day opportunity on Sunday, or travel time:

Thursday, 9/17: Welcome Cookout and Reception,
Whitewater Putting Tournament

Friday, 9/18: Alternate shot/foursomes team match play and/or fun play

Saturday, 9/19: Singles match play and/or fun play
Reception and Awards Banquet

The rates are being confirmed. Looking at golf + food $316.00 (plus tax). Special room rates of $199.99 per night (plus tax) are being offered. Optional practice rounds can be made for $65.00 for play after noon and $95.00 for play before noon. Rooms must be reserved by 8/17.

The LSC is a Solheim Cup format / 12 player team match-play competitions between the chapters in our section: Austin , Central Arkansas, Central Texas, Corpus Christi , Dallas , Ft. Worth , Greater Wichita, Houston , Oklahoma City, and San Antonio . We’ll be playing on Ram Rock and Apple Rock, respective Ratings & slope: 72.7/127, 73.6/128.
